Heatflon® Type Series H
PTFE Heating Panels

Heatflon® Heating panels are space-saving facilities which have been developed primarily for the electrical heating of aggressive liquids such as are employed in electroplating, semiconductor and laboratory applications and the chemicals sector.

Scope of applications:
Use of the fluoroplastic PTFE for all components which come into contact with the electrolytes provides the heating panel with one of the highest levels of chemical resistance, rendering it suitable for use in virtually all electroplating baths.

The excellent anti-adhesive properties of the fluoroplastic PTFE largely eliminate deposits and render cleaning very simple. The PTFE connecting cable and the PTFE heating panel form a single unity. This enables the panels to be immersed very deep in the media, e.g. for installation at the bottom of tanks. Series H Heatflon® heating panels have been in production for over 20 years, during which time they have established a worldwide reputation for excellent performance in virtually all areas of application.

The series H Heatflon® heating panels are designed on the basis of safety class II as defined in EN 60335-1. They do not possess any earthing, however. The baths thus require to be protected by means of earthleakage circuit breakers (e.l.c.b.) or isolating transformers. Bath level monitoring and bath temperature control are also imperative. Precise installation instructions are provided with each order or on request.

Type H Heatflon® heating panels are:
  • Suitable for a universal scope of applications, owing to the use of the fluoroplastic PTFE as opposed to titanium, quartz, graphite or similar
  • Robust and unbreakable in design
  • Absolutely anti-adhesive due to an extremely smooth surface
  • Easy to clean - No caking-on of deposits
  • Space-saving due to flat design
  • Low in specific output, thus eliminating any danger to plastics in the vicinity. This also reduces the impact on electrolyte and chemicals
  • Suitable for variable wall-mounted or bottom installation due to flexible connection cable
  • Safety-tested for absence of pores at 5,000 V in water baths
  • Durable due to PTFE insulating thickness of approx. 2 mm. No corrosion, no diffusion through the sheathing!
  • Maintenance-free! No burn-out, no wear
  • Problem-free, long-lasting and thus extremely economical

Suggestions for Installation:

When installing the heating panels, note that it may become wavy as a result of differences in the thermal expansion coefficients of the employed materials. Sufficient spacing should thus be observed, in order to prevent this waviness from leading to contact pressure in the installation compartment, which may result in the process concerned in running dry.

The standard connection length for Heatflon® H230 and H 120 volt is 200mm.  A length of 3000/4000 or 5000mm is optionally available, subject to an additional charge.
